Starting this issue, ReInvent Software Solutions aims to bring fresh perspectives to the practicing tech professional.

By pooling in its experience, expertise and resources, it will bring out cutting-edge training solutions that will influence the way you program.

The beneficiary of this training would be none other than the bedrock of our industry – you, the PROGRAMMER.

did u know?

Do you know that an average programmer spends only 5% of his time writing new code? The remaining 95% time is spent debugging the already written code.

If you could learn the art of programming effectively and eliminate the time spent in debugging your own code, you could be working 20 times faster starting today!!!

f-o-o-d for thot!

Programmers are like movie scriptwriters. They would like to believe that they wrote the perfect script, but their computers, like lousy actors, couldn't play their part well.

Paul Michelman in Harvard Business Review:

[While] coaching was once viewed by many as a tool to help correct underperformance; today it is becoming much more widely used in supporting top producers. In fact, in a 2004 survey by Right Management Consultants (Philadelphia), 86 percent of companies said they used coaching to sharpen the skills of individuals who have been identified as future organizational leaders.

One Friday night at TGIF:

“I have no life. I’m burnt out and exhausted.”

“Me too da - I’m totally stressed out.”

“I’m frustrated and discouraged.”

“I think I’m stuck in a rut – and looks like there is no way out.”

“My boss keeps micromanaging me. And it’s suffocating

“My boss is Ok yaar - but I’m very bored. I just put in my time and try not to worry about job satisfaction.”

“Job Satisfaction – what’s that?” (sarcasm intended!)

“No one really values or appreciates me. My boss doesn’t have a clue what all I’m capable of.”

“For me the pressure to deliver is unbearable.”

The same Friday night, another table at TGIF:

“Today I completed my part of the code by afternoon and spent the rest of the day helping others and playing TT.”

“Today is just the second day of my protocol stack implementation and I’m on layer 2! And I’m loving it!”

“I found the bug in the existing code and even suggested a fix to my counterpart in the US.”

“Everyone congratulated me after my explanation of my code at the review.”

No intelligent guess here. It is a group of programmers pouring their heart out at TGIF on Friday night. But what differentiates the second group from the first?

Artistic Programming.

The programmers in the second group took the Artistic Programming course.

What is Artistic Programming?

If you know exactly "why" a piece of code is written in the way it is, you would any day surpass the rest who are only concerned with "how" to write the code.

PAUSE.

Read the sentence again.

Digest it.

It is one of the simplest secrets to better coding.

So, now,

  •  You yearn to experience a sense of accomplishment at work

  •  You look for job satisfaction

  •  You want to transform (read reinvent) from being just a “code-churner” to a superlative programmer

  •  You have been waiting desperately for your share of “fun, freedom, creativity and innovation” at work

What can Artistic Programming do for you?

It is a revolution to help fulfill all such aspirations of yours. It aims to equip YOU, the programmer, with all the thinking skills that will help you to be effective and efficient as a programmer.

It will help you:

  •  Enjoy your work

  •  Accomplish more

  •  Master the art of solving even the most complex problems

  •  Gain skills that will keep you miles ahead of your programmer peers who have only programming languages as their ammunition

  • Transform your work to a playful activity

  •  Have fun while working, and feel great about yourself every single day

  •  Bring out the best in you.

Again. It is not that bonus you’d been waiting for. It is not even a magic mantra. It is Artistic Programming.

Do YOU have it in you to be a part of Artistic Programming?

  •  Willingness to listen, learn and look at things in a different way.

  •  Dreams to be better and better and better at programming skills.

  •  Be wonderfully successful at your work.

  •  Make your organization feel proud of you.

  •  Make the person in the mirror feel proud of you, too ...

  •  Eagerness to paint your skills on the wide canvas of your dreams.

Watch this space for more.
